We hope you will experience the largest lake in Japan, which occupies 1/6th of Shiga Prefecture, through cruising.
The 30-minute course includes a tour around Lake Biwa Bridge and Ukimido.
The Lake Biwa Bridge, opened about 60 years ago, connects the east and west sides of Lake Biwa. It is approximately 1,400 meters long, and its middle section is raised to allow large vessels to navigate. At its highest point, the bridge is about 26 meters above the water. The view of the bridge from below is refreshing.
Ukimido is one of the eight scenic spots in Omi. It is said to have been built in the Heian period (794-1185) to pray for safety on the lake and for the salvation of sentient beings.
The tour lasts 30 minutes, but it is a course that allows you to fully enjoy the elegant scenery of Lake Biwa. If you take a longer charter time, you can also take a course to Shirahige Shrine and Okino-Shiraishi. However, the northern part of the lake is easily affected by the weather, so the tour is limited to calm days without wind.
