Departure and arrival from Marina
Boats depart from Marina Olive, located just north of the Lake Biwa Bridge and easily accessible from JR Ono Station. Please enjoy a boat trip to the power spots from here. You can bring your own foods and drinks on board. An onboard refrigerator is also available.
The cruising speed is around 30 km/h, so the combination of sunlight and wind is very pleasant. Unlike large sightseeing boats, this boat is close to the surface of the water, so you can directly feel a sense of realism. You don't need a license to operate this cruise ship. Please enjoy the precious experience of touring power spots by driving an actual boat yourselves.
The front gate is equipped with a retractable ladder to make it easy for small children and women to get on and off the boat even on sandy beaches. On the way, you can have lunch & cafe at the beautiful glamping facility "AFUMI" or dine at "Ayu Cuisine Shosui" where you can enjoy the unique taste of Lake Biwa. However, since the course time will be extended, an additional vessel fee (4,400 yen/30 minutes) will be required.
Shirahage Shrine is a power spot on Lake Biwa dedicated to the god of longevity. The shrine has a history of about 2,000 years, and the large torii gate stands on the Biwako. Even on major holidays, there are no traffic jams or crowds because we access to the shrine by boat. You can view the site from the offshore side. It will be a great photo spot.
Oki no Shiraishi, a power spot rising in the middle of Lake Biwa. It is one of the four islands in Lake Biwa. It looks like a rock, but it is treated as an island. On top of the rock, there remains the remains of a shrine where people prayed for traffic safety on the water in the past. It is said that the name "Shiroishi" comes from the fact that the surface of the rock was oxidized by the feces of birds that flew over and turned white. (Various theories exist).
The depth of the water at the boat location is about 80 m. From there it rises steeply to a head of about 20 m. The rock is about 100m above the lake bottom.
